Driveway Cleaning is our most frequently requested service and we clean block paving and imprinted concrete.

Block paving can create a beautiful looking driveway if correctly laid and subsequently maintained from time to time. However, it’s the nature of the blocks to be porous which tends to lead to damp conditions in which moss, algae and lichen proliferate and also the sand-filled joints between the blocks tend to be a breeding ground for weeds to form, as many or even most homeowners with this surface will testify!

Block paving refurbishment takes place in stages:

Firstly, Fungicidal wash and pre treatment of weeds : Prior to the main cleaning visit we will treat your driveway with a specially developed fast acting fungicidal wash and weed killer. We then allow this to work over a few days, this ensures that all weeds and algae growths are removed in the cleaning stage.

Secondly : Cleaning: Do bear in mind if you’re comparing quotes that there are really 2 levels of cleaning – there is going over the surface with either a rotary head or lance and then there is a ‘deep clean’ which involves only using the lance and concentrates on getting as much muck and old sand out of the joints as possible. We always recommend and use both stages as, although obviously more time-consuming, it leads to the best possible result for the homeowner.

Thirdly, Re-sanding: Once completely dry, new kiln-dried sand is swept into the joints which stabilises the blocks and helps prevent future moss and weed growth in the joints.

Aquatec Decking Cleaning Services

Aquatec Patio Cleaning Services

Aquatec use only the highest quality equipment and with our large rotary head, driven by a powerful petrol-engined pressure washer, we can clean your patio slabs of either concrete or natural stone, imprinted concrete or block paving thoroughly and relatively quickly.

Patio’s are often laid in sheltered areas of your garden, which makes them nice for sitting in but can mean they stay damp for longer, particularly if the area is north-facing. This leads to the conditions that weeds, moss, algae and lichens love.

We may pre-treat the area for weeds or moss and algae and after giving that (ideally) several days to work, we’ll pressure clean the area as described above, using only cold water. We don’t use abrasive chemicals at any point, which can affect the colour of your surface.

If only cleaning is required, of course we can carry that out, but for longer term protection and to keep it looking good for the longest length of time with the most minimal maintenance from the homeowner.
